Essay Instructions: This is a Critical Thinking Application Paper, for Applied Ethics. It is based off the book and movie call My Sister's Keeper. This paper is to show the ethical reasons for having a baby for the benefit of another child as well as the reasons to not have a baby for another child's welfare. Need to show the ethical reasonings behind both points of view. 2. Paper is to be written and presented in a scholarly manner.
3. Paper should reflect synthesis of course content, "Ethics Issues in Healthcare" and analysis of story applying the principles of Ethics in Healthcare.
4. Use APA format. Include the following components:
a. Demographics of Main Character
Age, gender, ethnicity, religious preference,
occupation, support systems, medical diagnosis,
related medical history, major health problems,
identifiable risk factors related to health
problems, etc.
b. Impact of character's ethnic background, religious
preferences, cultural beliefs, and economic status
on current illness.
c. Pathophysiology of illness. Include significant
signs and symptoms, laboratory findings, diagnostic
findings, etc. for this diagnosis.
d. Discuss common treatment regimen for a patient with
this diagnosis. Include rationales for diet, fluid
therapy, activity, medications, therapeutic support,
etc.
g. Identify at least 3 ethical, legal, economic,
social, or political issues related to Ethics in
Healthcare. Apply decision-making framework.
Analyze issues in relation to ethical principles.
Be sure to address the following as appropriate:
autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, veracity,
fidelity, justice, confidentiality, etc?.
h. Values clarification ? include a description of what
personal values of the main character you feel were
challenged in the story, what values were being
