Essay Instructions: 1. This is not a research assignment where you are summarizing a specific topic only. Rather, you are required to make an argument about an issue. Do not summarize a given topic. Analyze it and take a position. Present your position in the thesis paragraph to the paper, and in your presentation.

2. You must print out and hand in to me your paper/presentation topic no later than March 27, 2012. The proposal is 5% of your grade for the Final Paper.

3. Proposal:
Your proposal must be a one-paragraph description of your topic followed by a list of five sources that you plan on using. Have you included a minimum of five bibliographic sources? If you use websites as sources they must be academically credible. Please note that www.wikipedia.com cannot be used as a source.

4. Paper requirements:
• Between 2,250 and 2,750 words in length (i.e., not including the required title page, endnotes or footnotes, and bibliography).
• The final draft is due at the beginning of class on April 30.
• Post your paper to www.turnitin.com using the same Class ID and Password that you did for the Paper/Presentation Proposal, which will be given out in class.
• Late papers will be docked one half-grade for each day the paper is late (e.g., if the paper was valued at an A and was then turned in late it would become an A-, a decrease of 5 points/day).
• The paper must only be submitted via turnitin.com.

5. Criteria for paper evaluation: Your grade for this paper will be out of a total of 100 points. The 100 points will be broken down as follows:
• Maximum of 5 points for Proposal (see above).
• Maximum of 45 points for content: How comprehensive is your analysis? Does the paper reflect a thoughtful examination of the topic at hand?
• Maximum of 25 points for writing style: Have you written a well-crafted paper? Is the paper well organized, with an introduction and conclusion? Is there a clear thesis argument laid out at the beginning of the paper?
• Maximum 25 points for formality and technicality: Title page which has title for your paper, your name, name of the course, and a date; 12-point font; double-spaced; 1” margins r/l and t/b; grammar; proper punctuation; proper syntax; paper must be neat; proper page numbers; proper citations (in endnote and not footnote form); and correct form of bibliography, which should follow the formats of APA, MLA, or Chicago Manual Style.

I also made the proposal already which I will upload that will tell you more about the righteous gentiles and a few websites that will help. If you can please make it revolve around why would these people help the Jews? Also talk about some people being different than others being unselfish and thinking about the good of others. Basically, talk about the righteous gentiles give examples and then ask for each gentiles why they would they help the jews?
